Day 2 – Video from Sarah Gardner
Today I’m sharing a video from Sarah Gardner, aka Juicy*S Art. She shares her process going from a large piece of paper to a batch of ATCs. She has a wonderful article in Issue 5 in which she shares a tutorial following her layering process. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you can find that here.
If you are anything like me, just watching another artist work is very relaxing and a form of self-care. Even if I don’t recreate the project of the video, I always find ideas that may come up the next time I create. Or maybe even a few weeks or months later, I’ll find myself thinking…”I should try that thing that Sarah did…”
I hope you enjoy watching Sarah’s video and are inspired to go make some art. If you do and share it online, be sure to tag us and use the hashtag #smmselfcare.
About Sarah
I’m Sarah Gardner, also known as Juicy*S. Juicy*S is my DJ name. I’m not a DJ. I would love to be a DJ. I am a recovering perfectionist. I have learned that what gives me joy is the process of creating, not the “perfect” end result. When I’m creating, I’m really focused on the process, enjoying the intuitive way things happen, seeing what different media do, and experimenting and playing around without judging every choice I make. Staying curious and being kind to myself, trusting this process, is a mindfulness practice. That’s why creativity is my self-care.

Woo hoo!! So happy and honored to be featured, Suzanne! Thank you so much!
I’m a newbie here – can someone tell me what the term ATC means? Thanks!
ATC stands for Artist Trading Card!
They are 3.5in by 2.5in — the same size as trading cards like baseball cards!
