Day 8 — Live with Molly Anthony
The final Instagram Live of this Self-Care Adventure was with Molly Anthony. I’ve “known” Molly from Instagram for a number of years and have been so pleased to see her name and art again (she has taken some time off of social media, something she explains in her video). Molly and I had a chat about her art practice over the last few years and what it has meant to her. She spent a few minutes sharing a quick demo of how she paints her watercolor circles (and spilled out a pouch full of them!).
She mentions a specific paint and I promised to share the link: Beam Paints. They are lovely and the story behind them is even more special. I haven’t bought anything from their shop YET! (But they have one called strawberry, so you know I have to get that….)
About Molly
Molly Anthony is a writer and mixed-media artist from Minneapolis, MN. She loves exploring art in all forms and sharing her ideas with others, but through the pandemic and family struggles she learned the importance of using those practices for self-care. In her work and her teachings, she strives to embrace imperfection, focuses on process over product and is constantly looking for new ways to be curious about the world around her, especially while on walks with her dog. She teaches locally in the Twin Cities and is also the co-facilitator for the MN Visual Journal Collective.
