The theme for Issue 8 is Word Play. You are free to interpret this idea in whatever way feels right to you.
Strawberry Moon Magazine is inclusive and strives to work with ALL artists, regardless of color, identity, talent, age, or ability.
Themed Gallery Guidelines
Journaling
When you include written journaling (i.e. dear diary type entries), how do you add it to your work? Do you leave it visible? Is it hidden behind tip-outs or obscured by layers of paint or collage? Share your pages, even if the written journaling is no longer visible!
Found words
Whether it’s ransom-letter-style cut-out letters or blackout/found poetry, any art in which you’ve used the words and letters from other sources will find its home here in this theme.
Quotations
When we can’t find our own words, we often turn to those of poets and philosophers and other wise people. Share your beautiful pages that celebrate the wisdom of others for this gallery.
Words as Art
From beautiful hand lettering to layers of words that are no longer legible, this gallery is for anything in which text is created as the artwork.
The Atelier
This gallery is for your art that doesn’t seem to quite fit any of the other categories. It can have text or lettering–or not! Anything goes.
General Guidelines
No more than 3 photos per submission.
You may submit to more than one gallery, but please limit yourself to just one per gallery.
Make sure your pictures are brightly lit and free from distractions.
Photos should be high-resolution (300DPI and at least 4 in by 6 in).
Notes
After the submission deadline, I will review all submissions and respond to all of them. If your work is going to be included, I’ll provide additional information closer to when the magazine is being finalized about how to preorder with your artist discount. I will also provide graphics you can use to announce your inclusion in the issue.
